The IEMA jobs board is a vital element of the Green Careers Hub, and we’re delighted to say that it has recently had a refresh.

As well as showcasing our job profiles, case studies and careers advice, it’s important to be able to show the green skills and real jobs that are being hired for in-market today. We’ve therefore been investing in this area over the last few months and are excited to share the details with you.

You’ll notice an immediate change to the website’s look and feel; it feels more contemporary, with a homepage that is much easier to navigate. The number of roles advertised on the board has also increased significantly in the last six months, and we are continuing to drive this forward to provide a trusted source of jobs for our members. The site also houses relevant content to support with your application, including CV and interview tips, career interviews and tips for moving into a sustainability role.

The updated search function means you can now browse by a variety of sectors, role types and levels. Job alerts can be set up so you don’t miss the latest vacancies and can get your application in early.

Green jobs and skills are key to our agenda at IEMA. The latest LinkedIn Green Skills Report highlighted that, between February 2022 and February 2023, LinkedIn job postings requiring at least one green skill have grown by a median of 15.2%. Jobs in sustainability and the environment are constantly evolving and there’s currently a green skills shortage. The Green Careers Hub was developed to support and inspire individuals to get into this space or become greener in their current role.

More and more people are looking to start their career, or transition into a green job, often citing purpose and passion as driving factors. Furthermore, the latest Hays’ Salary & Recruiting Trends guide showed that the average salary increase for sustainability roles – 6.3% – is considerably higher than the national average.

The jobs board is an invaluable tool to search for roles currently in demand, employers that are hiring in this space, and the types of skills and qualifications needed across the market. IEMA partners can benefit from a range of packages and beneficial rates for advertising, so please get in touch if you’re interested in finding out more.

We are proud to be supporting people throughout their career journey; we truly believe that all jobs need to be greener, and it’s our members and customers who will help to drive that change.
