This Green Careers Week webinar on 4th November, hosted by the Career Development Institute was specifically structured for careers leads and educators in schools, colleges, and universities. We explored green jobs examples to help you support students.

Here’s what to expect

The session opened by setting the stage for the rapidly evolving green jobs landscape., with a snapshot of the latest trends and key themes that have emerged over the past year. Our expert industry representatives then outlined a growing role in the sector that they work in, sharing insights into how to break into these careers and what a typical day looks like. They also shared their own career journeys, highlighting the diverse pathways to green jobs.

Speakers

  • Martin Baxter, Deputy CEO at the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP). Martin works in the UK and internationally to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future and support people in the development of sustainability skills and green careers.
  • Donna Howard is an experienced leader in driving social sustainability, currently serving as Head of Social Impact and Inclusion at Kier Transportation. With a proven track record in embedding social value strategies, championing initiatives that create measurable impact for communities and clients.
  • Jen Hunt, Sustainability Director at Unipart, is an experienced leader in strategy, new propositions and sustainability, driving supply chain transformation excellence, across the technology, automotive, health, utilities and retail industries. With over 15 years working in Supply Chains, Jen is passionate about helping organisations transform them to optimise the balance of cost, quality and carbon.
  • Atiyeh Pourmatin is a Chartered Environmentalist and experienced BREEAM Assessor and AP, specialising in sustainability certification and advisory services at Arcadis UK. With a proven track record in delivering high-quality BREEAM outcomes, she helps clients embed sustainable design and achieve measurable environmental performance.
